Start with the right referral route
 

Inspire South West's education services are commissioned services. A formal referral is required from Devon County Councils 0-25 SEND service, a school or another authorised statutory commissioner.

A parent or carer can contact us for information, but ISW cannot approve
funding, determine EOTAS or start an education package independently of the responsible commissioner.
 

Information we need

• The reason for referral and the outcomes being sought

• The young persons current education arrangements and attendance

• Relevant EHCP sections, professional advice and risk information

• Safeguarding information and named professional contacts

• Proposed hours, duration, review dates and funding route

• What other provision is in place and who coordinates the full package

What happens next
 

We review the information, consider capacity and suitability, and identify any gaps or risks that need clarification.

If ISW may be suitable, we discuss the proposed model, staffing, location, intended outcomes, reporting and cost with the commissioner.

No placement is
confirmed until the scope and responsibilities are agreed.
