Our Team

Inspire South West employ dynamic, knowledgeable and experienced teachers, education key workers and peer mentors. As a team, we have an expanse of experience and networks across education and social care.

Having a wide range of professionals allows us to better align their experience and approaches to individual needs. Inspire South West believe in the power of 1:1 work and building positive working relationships with students before evoking change.

Quality and Safeguarding

Safe, accountable and open to scrutiny

Strong relationships do not replace professional accountability. ISW maintains clear
arrangements for safeguarding, safer recruitment, staff induction, supervision, risk
management, information governance, incident response and quality assurance.

Safeguarding

Everyone working for or on behalf of ISW has a responsibility to recognise and act on
concerns. Staff follow an immediate reporting pathway to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
or deputy, record concerns accurately and work with commissioners and statutory agencies
in accordance with safeguarding requirements. Emergency action is taken where there is an
immediate risk of harm.

Quality assurance

Quality is reviewed through supervision, observations, session records, attendance
information, feedback, outcome reporting, audits and organisational self-evaluation. Our
framework focuses on four practical standards: Welcome and Care, Value and Include,
Communicate, and Decision Making.

Reporting and review

The frequency and format of reporting are agreed with the commissioner. Records
distinguish what was planned, what occurred, how the young person engaged, any
significant concerns and what should happen next. We seek to make progress visible without
overstating causation or claiming that one service is responsible for every change.

Professional standards

  • Enhanced DBS and safer-recruitment checks appropriate to role

  • Mandatory safeguarding and role-specific training

  • Regular supervision and management oversight
  • Risk assessment for activities, environments and individual needs

  • Data protection and confidential record keeping

  • Appropriate insurance and contractual assurance

  • Clear complaints, whistleblowing and escalation routes

Regulatory status

ISW is a Community Interest Company and a commissioned provider of education and
support services. It is not an independent school and is not registered with Ofsted as a
school. Commissioners remain responsible for satisfying themselves that the complete
arrangement is lawful, suitable, safe and appropriately overseen.
