Our Team

Inspire South West employ dynamic, knowledgeable and experienced teachers, intervention workers and peer mentors. As a team, we have an expanse of experience and networks across education and social care.

Having a wide range of professionals allows us to better align their experience and approaches to individual needs. Inspire South West believe in the power of 1:1 work and building positive working relationships with students before evoking change.

Family Support

Inspire South West has supported hundreds of families to overcome a multiplicity of challenges. We start by finding the strengths in each family and build on these further. We help them identify what is not working and explore the changes family members want to make, individually and together. We further develop the skills and strategies they are familiar with and harness them to achieve solutions. We help families to identify and change entrenched patterns in the way they relate to each other, to professionals and the wider community. Crucially we seek to add value and empower families to improve their life chances.

The foundation of our approach is to build self-esteem and self-confidence. Young people and families often define themselves in negative terms – and often this is how others describe them too. We start by finding the potential, what might be possible and what motivates and drives the change process. Helping young people identify what they want to achieve long term prompts a shift in mindset because they understand change and growth is relevant to their hopes and dreams.

We support children and young people to identify actions that build self-belief, where achievement (even small steps) drives a positive mindset. We help young people and those that live and work with them to believe that they can be ambitious and achieve success. We guide them on their journey, developing new skills and qualifications and reinforcing their change. We resolutely focus on the positives and embedding new patterns of behaviour.

We help everyone, parents and professionals, to gain insight into the young person’s context and reality; we then help all involved to chart a course where success drives change. By motivating and inspiring young people to make that change, they can experience reward and recognition that encourages them to overcome negatives cycles of behaviour.

We deliver bespoke Alternative Education Programmes, which are funded by schools and the Local Authority to ensure students are accessing specialist support and education. As part of the Alternative Education programs we expose students to enriching opportunities in order to boost their confidence, self-esteem and resilience. As a direct result of our input we have seen many students transition back in to main stream education with clear aspirations for their futures.
